The VibraPEP Oscillatory PEP Therapy System (OPEP) is a single patient use (one person) device that provides Positive Expiratory Pressure (PEP) Therapy for spontaneously breathing patients.

The VibraPEP detaches and removes bronchial secretions in many lung diseases including:

  • Cystic Fibrosis
  • COPD
  • Asthma
  • Atelectasis

The Unique Design

The VibraPEP consists of a flat Flow Valve inserted into a Curved Tube. As the patient exhales through the VibraPEP, the Flow Valve pressure increases and buckles at the bending of the Curved Tube. When the peak pressure is reached, the Flow Valve end opens and is catapulted against the wall, releasing its pressure. This process is repeated, providing an oscillation effect at a constant pressure and flowrate during the entire exhalation phase.

Dual Therapy:

The VibraPEP has multiple, easy-to-use settings allowing clinicians to offer various therapies depending on a patient’s specific needs. We divide the settings into two categories:

Combined PEP: Position 1-3

Position 1, 2 or 3 creates CombinedPEP® characterized as continuous positive pressure above baseline with applied pressure and flow changes. These settings maintain an appropriate positive expiratory pressure (PEP) that promotes collateral ventilation by stabilizing and enlarging the airway.

Dynamic PEP®: Position 4-5

Position 4 and 5 creates DynamicPEP®, erratic flow and pressure oscillations characterized by a slow increase from zero to maximum with an abrupt return to zero. Viscous mucus cannot follow these fast movements and is shed from the bronchial walls.

More Effective Medicine Delivery

The device may be connected via a Valved Tee Adapter for use with a jet nebulizer for aerosol drug delivery. The VibraPEP is not intended to be used to deliver nebulized steroids or antibiotics. Our uniquely designed Adapter ensures effective medication delivery.
